Chinese artist Sun Jianlin
Chinese artist Sun Jianlin was born in 1942, in Changsha (Hunan Province). Influenced by Chinese culture since childhood, 13-year-old boy started to learn painting, graduated from the Theatrical Art Department of Hunan Academy of Fine Arts. He has been involved in various forms of painting, developing middle-aged and traditional Chinese painting, experimenting with design, folk art, Western art, etc. Sun Jianlin’s paintings are colorful and have a strong flavor of life. His works have been exhibited in China and Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, India, and Japan, and were featured in several publications and illustrated albums.
Hunan is the birthplace of China Xiang Chu Culture and Hunan Painting Art occupies a pivotal position in the field of contemporary Chinese art. Hunan painting art has a long history, and through the ages has become an important part of contemporary Chinese art. Chinese artist Sun Jianlin is now Hunan Branch member of the Chinese Artists Association, and council member of the Hunan Puppet Play Artist Association.
