Porcelain miniature by Svetlana Oreshkina
Svetlana Oreshkina has been creating porcelain miniature for more than twenty years. Her tea sets are stunning in their brightness, vividness and naturalism. Miniature birds that adorn the plates, look like they are going to fly up any minute, and berries on plates look as fresh as if they have just been picked up. The nature itself enclosed in these small porcelain figurines. Butterflies, bees, frogs, dragonflies, grasshoppers, lizards – everything breathes with life. And you are filled with the feeling of a warm summer day, when buttercups, violets, daisies bloom on the porcelain plates and cups. Russian porcelain artist Svetlana Oreshkina was born in Moscow, where she lives and works now. She graduated from the Moscow State Open Pedagogical University. She is a member of the Artists’ Union of Russia, permanent participant of national and foreign art exhibitions.
Porcelain flowers and butterflies look alive because they are subtly and gracefully made and painted by hand. The natural translucency of porcelain gives them luminosity. To achieve this effect allows constantly improving exclusive technology developed by the artist.
Each product undergoes several firing time (from 800 to 1300 ° C) in a muffle furnace with controlled gradual cooling, which requires a lot of time. Artistic decoration of hand modeling, painting and high fire overglaze carried out in stages. Creativity and potential unpredictable changes during firing exclude exact repetition. Author’s signature is placed under the glaze.
