Precious stones painting by Alex Mosman
A unique Siberian artist from Yakutia Alex Mosman has created original paintings of gems and precious stones. Gorgeous and enchanting landscapes of our country laid out with a multicolored stone powder without any additional drawing. Sadly, this year, Alex Mosman passed away, he was 42 years old. Alex Mosman said about his art: “A beautiful nature that surrounds me, to a large extent contributes to creativity. Yet, the genes speak of themselves, because my mother is Russian and father is German, so I do the painting with a Russian soul and German quality.” In the pictures everything is made of multicolored stone chips. Alex Mosman used minerals – chrome diopside (Yakut emerald), Charoite, carnelian, jade, malachite, serpentine, fluorite, jasper, obsidian, Morion, vermiculite, muscovite, phlogopite, biotite, marble, quartz, amazonite, etc.
I sincerely admire his awesome work and the artist himself, whose soul is a part of each stone painting. His pictures impress with their lively colors, open up the beauty of nature, which plays on his pictures so natural and beautiful. The mastery of this exclusive work with inanimate material – stone – is fascinating.
