Traditionally, sculptures by artists outside the Chinese Royal Court system had two themes: The afterlife and the celestial life. They ended up mostly in tombs or graveyards and were religious relics, such as Buddha and other sculptures decorating temples. In China, public sculpture entered the peoples’ daily lives only in recent years. With the development of new cities sculptors were given the space to create sculptures that has become a part of the landscape linking together the environment and people. This is a golden era for sculptors, that influences young artists. Among them was Zhang Hua. He did not have artistic family background, but had a natural talent and ability to create. From a simple piece of clay he could create amazing art pieces. The style of his sculptures is fresh, crisp and graceful, never heavy, bulky or lifeless. Extenuated limbs and bodies, flowing lines, motion and youthfulness are the extension for hopes, rushing towards the future with dreams of reaching their final goal.

Bosnia and Herzegovina based artist has created a beautiful inspirational gallery of pictures united by moon motif. However, I would call it Gothic, or moonlight pictures. By the way, I came across his Facebook art gallery – Salim Lunart Ljuma quite by accident. And I suppose, the word “Lunart” in his name means moon art. Anyway, the main inspiration, according to the artist is Love. “Love is the day in which I wake up happy, embrace purple dawn, embrace it gently and still astonished and whisper again and again – life is love”, says Salim Ljuma. His creativity is omnipresent in all directions of art, expressed through drawing, graphics, painting, sculpture, installations, design and photography. Salim Ljuma was born on 1st April 1961. He has been professionally engaged in the arts for 35 years. Participated in numerous collective and individual exhibitions.

Born 17 September 1949 in Moscow, Honored Artist of Russia (2005) Valery Vasiliev is a member of the Russian Academy of Design. In addition, he is a member of the Board of the Department of “Book graphics” of the Moscow Union of Artists, and a member of the jury of the All-Russian contest “The image of the book”. Also, he is a chairman of the Exhibition Committee of the Department “Book graphics” of Moscow Union of Artists. Vasiliev, after studying at the Moscow Art School, graduated from the Moscow State Art Institute named after Surikov (1968), and the Moscow Higher School of Industrial Art (1973). Valery Vasiliev is a many-awarded artist illustrator of children books. Among his awards – 1984 Grand Prix in Brno, 1989 bronze medal in Leipzig, 1999 Grand Prix in Tehran, 2002 Medal “Golden Pen” in Belgrade, and 2012 Medal of the Ministry of Agriculture.
