Elena Tener painting on silk
Elena Tener grew up in the artistic family. Her father Victor Fedorov a wonderful master of a great artist – painter, created a historical and heroic paintings. Elena Tener graduated from Kazan Art School, worked at the Art Fund, the Tatar Academic Opera and Ballet Theater as a decorator, Tatar Drama and Comedy. Elena Tener is a Member of the Professional Union of Artists of Russia. Elena has been always fascinated with the images of flowers and nature. This passion made her create exquisite painting of transparent flowers on silk. Impressive bouquets seem alive – irises, lilies, poppies, sunflowers, peonies, roses. These flowers, with shimmering colors, like breathing, pour in the air thin and delicate flavor. However, the compositions by Elena Tener, have their own, different from other similar works due to a special technique, which is a result of many experiments invented by the artist herself.
At first glance these works resemble batiks, but looking closer, you can see it is not. Soft luster of silk in different lighting conditions and viewing angle give the works muted tones, then, on the contrary, make them glow brightly. In some cases, it is like a multi-colored foil. The artist combines seemingly irreconcilable opposites such as silk and metal.
Elena’s painting resembles classical Chinese and Japanese painting on silk, which is also dominated by flowers, trees, birds, worshiped as a symbol of eternal beauty and youth. The artist is surely on the found by her “Silk Road.” She is constantly in search of new technology, new material combination possibilities, paints.
