Australian fine artist Jill Kirstein
Australian fine artist Jill Kirstein was born in 1937 in Katoomba, New South Wales. Jill had successfully worked as a flower arranger before she turned her passion for flowers into beautiful oil paintings. Jill has found roses to be the most challenging and rewarding subject. According to her, she was greatly influenced by the Belgian artist Maurice Verelste, who painted florals in the style of the old masters. He encouraged her to find and develop her own unique personal style. Already in 1977 Jill Kirstein had her first solo exhibition in Cape Gallery – Harare in Zimbabwe. Then followed numerous art exhibitions in South Africa (1979-1981), Adelaide, Sidney, Brisbane. Her paintings are represented in public and private collections in US, UK, Singapore, South Africa, and Australia.
