The main activity of Moscow based artist Valit – residential and non-residential interior design. Her second favorite activity – interior decor, home accessories and jewelry in the decoupage technique. She, in particular, is engaged in creating bracelets in the decoupage technique. Valit loves black and white photos, retro style, and the beginning of the XX century. Also, pastel shades, bright happy colors, and elegant shapes, but she believes that everything has to be adapted to modern times. Gorgeous bracelets contain a plot that may lead to pleasant associations, thoughts or memories. Made of wood, warm, unobtrusive with discreet colors, bracelets by Maya Valit are light and look noble.

Dreams Of Stone pendants
Moscow based artist of applied art Nina works under a nickname ‘Dreams Of Stone’. The mixed media artist creates artworks made in different techniques and material – Batik, Beading, Felting, plastic, wicker, painting, and photography. Unfortunately, there is no personal information about the artist on her website, and all I have found there – comments on Dreams Of Stone pendants from her admirers. So, as they say, her artwork speaks much about the artist herself.

Valeri Timofeev plique-a-jour enameling art
Talented Russian jeweler Valery Timofeev (1941, Latvia – 2014, United States) was born in Latvia. He moved to Moscow in 1967 to get the art education. After graduation he got a degree in arts and crafts. Timofeev decided to become a jeweler in 1972, when he saw the work of Rasul Alikhanov, a prominent jeweler artist of Dagestan. In his work Dagestanian jeweler used techniques of engraving, filigree, cloisonn’e enamel. Technical virtuosity of his products inspired Timofeev. In the process of mastering the traditional methods, he studied the technique used by jewelers of the older generations. Works by legendary jewelers Pavel Ovchinikov, Ivan Khlebnikov, working for Faberge, are real masterpieces of plique-a-jour. He studied plique-a-jour enameling art in the museums, read and experimented, learning the secrets of the time.

Silver art by Anna Kiryanova and Ivan Chernykh – a husband and wife, working in a creative tandem. Both artists have a higher art education with the specialty “jeweler’s art”. Besides, they are members of the jewelry section of the Union of Artists of Russia. The works of the creative duo constantly present at art exhibitions and competitions.
Meanwhile, from the materials they prefer working with silver. According to them, they like silver for its generosity and democracy, the ability to take any shape and ability to be combined with other materials. Anna Kiryanova believes that the main thing in the works – emotion, symbolism, fabulous and of course the incessant search for new forms and ideas. The creative duo of Anna Kiryanova and Ivan Chernykh live in the city of Kungur, Perm region, Russia.

Russian artist jeweler Elena Kulemzina
Born and raised in the Vladimir region, since 1990, Elena Kulemzina has lived in the Siberian city of Kemerovo, which she really likes. According to her, the love for lacquer miniature came when she was a child and stayed forever. Elena Kulemzina is a mixed media artist jeweler experimenting with unusual materials. Gradually she has formed her own style.

Medalist artist Felix Rasumny

Russian jeweler and medalist artist Felix Rasumny was born April 20, 1869 in Sevastopol, Russian Empire (died 1940 in Paris). In his youth, he settled in France. He studied at the School of Decorative Arts. His teachers were E. Millet, T. Gautier and E.P. Tasse. Felix Rasumny gained fame as the author of decorative and commemorative plaques and medals, as well as brooches and table decorations in the style of Art Nouveau and Art Deco. Among his works are: cast iron bas-relief in honor of the Alexander III bridge in Paris for the Universal Exhibition of 1900, silver medal to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia (released in 1902 at the Paris Mint, in 2011, exhibited at the exhibition devoted to the history of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the General Staff Building, the State Hermitage), a silver coin of France at 10 francs (1929), a commemorative medal in honor of the World exhibition in Paris in 1937, and others.

First of all, any jeweler who does not know the sketch art, loses the ability to easily and freely improve the design of products. Also can’t present ideas and projects properly. With a simple pencil a jeweler can embody his ideas on paper. In particular, he can choose different options, study the details of the joints and fix locks, change the aspect ratio, and many more. In general, the purpose of the sketch – to work out future product on paper as accurately as possible, without wasting precious time on products’ rework. Besides, the sketch keeps the overall concept, develops and submits to the entire collection.
In short, working without a jewelry sketch is rather difficult. Noteworthy, the sketch gives a glamor to product, the visual idea of perfect combination of shape, color and line.
