Medalist artist Felix Rasumny

Russian jeweler and medalist artist Felix Rasumny was born April 20, 1869 in Sevastopol, Russian Empire (died 1940 in Paris). In his youth, he settled in France. He studied at the School of Decorative Arts. His teachers were E. Millet, T. Gautier and E.P. Tasse. Felix Rasumny gained fame as the author of decorative and commemorative plaques and medals, as well as brooches and table decorations in the style of Art Nouveau and Art Deco. Among his works are: cast iron bas-relief in honor of the Alexander III bridge in Paris for the Universal Exhibition of 1900, silver medal to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia (released in 1902 at the Paris Mint, in 2011, exhibited at the exhibition devoted to the history of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the General Staff Building, the State Hermitage), a silver coin of France at 10 francs (1929), a commemorative medal in honor of the World exhibition in Paris in 1937, and others.

Enamel Jewelry collection created by Mona and Alex Szabados includes beautiful miniature paintings of female faces and animals. Characterized by rich colors of enamel in combination with precious stones and fantasy of artists. Mona (artist) and Alex Szabados (jeweler) live in California. They are collaborating for over 20 years and have won numerous awards, presented their work in several books and magazines. Each element is formed gradually, using a transparent enamel with gold leaf, silver leaf and gold beads, all about 30 layers. Faces are built with finely chopped transparent and opaque opalescent enamel. The creative tandem of jewelry artists work together at each stage. When Mona finishes with enamel, Alex begins his fine jewelry work packing enamel, adding unique gems, granular gold, reticulation, etc.

Kiev based artist Yana Khachikian has created a stunning gallery of miniature oil paintings on usual rocks. Beautiful landscapes painted on the cold surface of the stone are amazing. According to Yana, she first painted seascapes, inspired by the beautiful nature of the Crimean seaside, where she spent her summer holidays. And she took some of the Crimean stones with her to Kiev. Today, stones are brought to her from all over Ukraine, and Yana paints them, creating very unexpected miniatures. Meanwhile, the young and beautiful artist prefers to work at night, which she considers the best time for creativity.

Russian artist of applied art Marina Nikitina, known as mariniki, graduated from the Stroganov Moscow State University of Arts and Industry. She is a member of the Moscow Union of artists.
In Russia, and all over the world, there are lots of masters making miniature felted toys of wool. Many of them create wonderful toys, but few are able to achieve such artistic heights as Marina Nikitina. Marina is a great teacher and a true artist, running felting workshops. In addition to toys, she is a skillful jewelry designer and decorator. Besides, she conducts master classes, where she shares her practical skills, and creative experience.

Born January 24, 1988 in Novogireevo, Moscow region, Julia Gorina (Sevastyanova) is a talented Russian artist of applied art. Julia enjoyed drawing in her childhood, but didn’t study at art schools. Instead, she graduated from Moscow Finance and the Humanities Academy, Design faculty. Currently, she creates fabulous miniatures, brooches, dolls, jewelry, which she sells online. Natural material, coral polyps (“bioherm”), in large concentrations become reefs and coral islands. Traditionally, people use ordinary corals as raw materials to produce lime. And some rare species, as a precious raw material used for the manufacture of jewelry. Among the variety of marine resources in nature, there are real deep water treasures – pink, black, “gold”, blue and bamboo coral. In particular, the Mediterranean Sea and off the coast of Japan are rich in red or precious corals – gorgonians. From their calcareous skeleton of red and pink, purified from polyps, even in ancient times, at least 25 thousand years ago, produced expensive necklaces, bracelets, brooches, cameos, and other products.
