Chinese photographer, film director and actor, Fan Ho is one of the most famous Chinese in the world. The pride and treasure of the nation, he has many titles and more than 280 awards. Widely collected and exhibited in Europe and Asia, his art decorates numerous private collections. Born into a family of film director, in Shanghai in 1932, his family later moved to Hong Kong. While still a boy, Fan Ho received Rolleiflex as a gift from his father, and that was the first camera, with which he made his first shots. Meanwhile, in the 1950s and 60s Fan Ho was actively experimenting in photography. In addition, since 1956 he began shooting in films. To date, he has acted in 15 films and directed 11 films.

In fact, Fan Ho has a delightful sense of composition, and his work – a combination of rigorous mathematical calculation and perceptible blow of life impossible in staged photography. Feeling often invisible elements of spatial structures, Fan Ho captures them, creating a truly wonderful composition.

The talent of Ho was noted by the Photographic Society of America and Britain, Germany and France, Italy and Belgium, Brazil and Argentina. The British Royal Society of Arts has made him an honorary member. 12 universities in Taiwan and Hong Kong invited him to teach a course on the photo and cinema.

Fan Ho wrote and published five books, one of which contains a complete list of all his awards, titles and victories. Today, Fan Ho lives in California, is constantly flying to Hong Kong and Taiwan, where he directs the film-making process.
