Decorative painting by Marina Polyakova – saturated marks, lines, and color spots. At the same time, they are synthesis and eclectic mix of styles and techniques. Marina works in the genre of ethnic-decorative painting. The novelty of her paintings in conjunction of original images and unique author’s technique. Marina herself determines her direction in painting as an emotional decorativism. She says: “My work is like patchwork fabric. People like returning to childhood. We like to remember what we saw as a child. It is probably a rug hanging over our bed. And the fact is that these child experience accompanies us through a lifetime.
Nizhny Novgorod based artist Marina Polyakova paints on canvas, using the main material – tempera. She also uses oil pastels, metallic paint, acrylic paste and different lacquers. Often mixes them, enabling a special decorative effect. Her art is like the work of a jeweler, slowly spreading precious strokes on painted surface.
Her paintings attract with the game, mystery, color, and rich texture.

Having visited Italy, and inspired by the paintings of Leonardo da Vinci and Botticelli, mosaics of the Cathedral of San Marco in Venice, beautiful architecture, Marina painted “The Annunciation”.
According to her biography, Marina Polyakova was born in 1967 in Mari ASSR. In 1993 graduated from art-graphic faculty of the Vladimir State Pedagogical University. In 1995 graduated from the Architectural and Construction Academy in Nizhny Novgorod. Since 2000 – member of the Union of Artists of Russia, since 2001 – Member of the International Arts Festival in Magdeburg (Germany). In 2003 had a solo exhibition in the gallery “Artklub” (Paris). A regular participant of exhibitions and traveling exhibitions of gallery “Wei Art”.
