Korean flower painter Sookja Rho
Korean flower painter Sookja Rho graduated from Seoul National University in 1966 with BFA in Painting. She dedicates all her life to painting flowers. In Korea, there is a saying that if you want to paint flowers, you should find an old garden and watch the flowers from sunrise to sunset. Sookja, following the saying, watching the flowers grow, and thanks to her talents to see the beauty in nature and artistic skills, has created an awesome botanic gallery of colorful drawings of wild flowers. Sometimes she draws wild flowers of different kinds in one color palette, thus showing the ability of different species to get along in harmony. Her nature as a well-organised world, where everything depends on something else. All her subjects keep their own individuality, but each flower contains its own unique pleasure. Artworks by Korean flower painter were exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions and presented in Whanki Museum, Cheong Wa Dae, National Intelligence Service, The Bank of Korea, Choheung Bank, First Bank, Nara Banking Corporation, etc.
