Traditionally, carpets in hotels and casinos in Las Vegas are incredibly bright. Meanwhile, such design is a real insult to the aesthetic sense, but they are there with some practical purpose – to tourists “not to sleep” and spend money in the casino. The author of these Psychedelic Casino carpets photographs is Chris Maluzinski, who has taken these pictures over the past 5 years. The 39-year-old fan of the capital of gambling, Chris Maluzinski repeatedly comes to Vegas from his native New York on business. One day, bright colors of carpets in the casinos and hotels struck him so much, that he began photographing them.

Chris Maluzinski began his professional career in 1995, and worked for most major Swedish newspapers. Meanwhile, in 2005 Chris Maluszynski moved to New York City and became one of the founding members, and the director of Moment Agency.

“Vegas – the most surreal place in the world – says the photographer. – A huge, neon-drenched metropolis in the desert. It literally captivates you by the lights and light. I tried to give my eyes a rest, dropping them on the floor, but there is no peace. And I noticed that the carpets – as flashy as anything else. Besides, you can’t confuse them with anything else, they can only be seen in Vegas”.

“It was as if everything was done deliberately in order that you remain sensitive.” The casino has no windows, natural light does not get in here, so that people sometimes do not even know what time it is. And all this – just for you to spend money.
