BL67 Famous cats
BL67 Famous cats – a series of ballpoint drawings which belong to a self-taught French artist. The artist known as BL67 lives and works in Paris. According to him, his inspiration comes from pop-art, comic strips, science fiction, religion and nature. Meanwhile, he transposes Magrittes surrealist poetry, Miro’s simplicity, and Glen Baxter absurd sketches. In addition, Boris Vian’s sonnets and writer Eric Chevillard’s “well-thought reflections” on canvas. Besides, the artist says that he is “in love with drawing and ideas”. Also, he admits to liking to look for simple and quirky ideas. Particularly, he is very proud of his series called “Prices”, price tags glued on canvases. Thus, the way he set their price is an example of his humor. For example, the canvas calles “259 euros” composed of 259 tags for 1 euro, cost 259 euro. “Therefore”, comments the artist, “if the work becomes more valuable someday, the gain will be easy to calculate”.
