Dusciana Bravura Mosaic Sculpture
Born in Venice in 1969, Italian artist Dusciana Bravura graduated from the Institute of mosaic art in Ravenna. After graduation, she studied in the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. According to family tradition, began working with her father Marco Bravura, participating in the creation of nine important works commissioned by local authorities.
Meanwhile, Dusciana Bravura gained fame for her work on “The Thousand and One Nights”. In this work she combined murrina wedges and other elements in elegant harmony of colors and shapes.
Delicate gradations of light and shadow that looks something geometric and certain, the curvilinear and abstract inevitably attract the eye. However, best of all Dusciana managed to use the ancient mosaic technique in the modern context, giving life to an imaginary universe populated with mirrors and animals.

In fact, mosaic in her work receives a new, modern interpretation of the theme of nature described in the form of a fairy tale. Dusciana’s work reminiscent of ancient Islamic arabesque ornaments, so her works are so charming and nostalgic.
