Known in Russia since the XV century, painting on birch bark is rare today. And few artists work in this genre of art. Nature “paints” the bark in its sole discretion, decorating with bizarre excrescences, curls and combinations of strokes. While creating a picture it’s important not to disturb the harmony of the natural pattern. Topics of work – rich nature, genre scenes, the Orthodox subjects. The birch has long been revered as a symbol of Russia and the soul of the Russian people.
