Ohio born realist painter Michael Zigmond graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1984. He has been painting for more than thirty years. His highly realistic art is based on using a combination of photographic reference and direct observation. Each composition manifests an intense light, as the artist enjoys the interplay of light and shadow rendered near a solid object. For his long artistic career Michael Zigmond has participated in more than 50 solo art exhibitions throughout the United States, including his native Ohio, Boston, San Francisco and New York.

Mostly, these works are portraits of well known and unknown people, including his beloved daughter Alyssa. Elegant watercolors by Guan Weixing appeared in numerous publications. Also, exhibited in Beijing, numerous national and international art exhibitions – in America, Japan, France and others. Art works by Chinese influential watercolorist Guan Weixing (“First snow”) won gold medal at International Watercolor Exhibition in USA. The book “Memories of Peking: South Side Stories”, containing more than 80 illustrations by the artist won International Best Illustration Award in 1992, 1993 and 1994.

Born in Oakland, California, in 1940, Rowell was a talented landscape photographer. He has created an inspiring art gallery of landscape scenery from around the world, including portrait and still life. Remembered as one of the best American landscape photographers, Rowell was in fact, a self-taught photographer.
According to his biography, Galen Rowell enjoyed a long marriage with Barbara Cushman, with whom he lived in California and had two children. In 2002, 62-year-old Rowell and his wife tragically died in an air crash between Alaska and California. In order to recognize the great and intangible value of his body of work, Galen Rowell posthumously entered the International League of Conservation Photographers (2009).
